I am a machinist by trade. Machinists use cutting fluids to help metal from guarding in cutting operations. There is a product called TAP MAGIC for steel and another blend called Tap MAGIC FOR ALUMINUM. If one mistakenly uses the chemical meant for steel on an aluminum job, THE ALUMINUM WILL RECEIVE A VERY BLACK SUDSY CORROSION!

Could there be a similar black corrosive action to the material of the carb slide, caused by gasoline additives?? Are some brands of gasoline, or different seasonal blends fortified with caustic chemicals? How about alcohol blending?
